Uniforms for household staff should serve the people who wear them first. A housekeeper, nanny, cook, gardener or driver works long, active days in and around a home, and clothing that is comfortable, modest and easy to care for makes that work easier while giving the household a neat, consistent appearance.
Uniform Suppliers UAE is the uniform and workforce-identity division of Mustang Advertising Trading LLC, operating since 2007 from Dubai. We supply domestic staff uniforms to households, villa and estate managers, domestic-staffing agencies and private residences run to hospitality standards, in the UAE and across the GCC.
What household uniforms need to do in the UAE
Domestic work moves between conditions all day: an air-conditioned interior, a hot kitchen, a garden or driveway in full sun, a school run in the car. Garments need to cope with that range without the wearer having to change several times.
Comfort and dignity come first. Loose, breathable cuts with enough length and sleeve coverage allow staff to bend, lift, carry children and clean without feeling exposed. Household teams come from many countries and have different preferences, so it is worth asking each person what they are comfortable wearing before choosing a style.
Easy care matters
Household uniforms are usually washed at home, often daily. Fabrics that wash easily, dry without heavy ironing and keep their colour reduce the workload for the same people who wear them. Providing enough sets per person for a full laundry rotation is as important as the garment itself.
Role-by-role garment guide
| Role | Typical garments | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Housemaid or housekeeper | Tunic and trousers or a modest housekeeping dress, apron | Loose fit, sleeve and tunic length, pockets, easy-care fabric |
| Nanny | Polo shirt or soft tunic, trousers | Soft fabric without scratchy trims, freedom of movement, practical colours |
| Household cook and kitchen staff | Chef jacket or kitchen tunic, trousers, apron, head covering | Breathable fabric for a hot kitchen, apron length, easy laundering |
| Gardener | Work shirt or polo shirt, work trousers, cap or sun hat | Lightweight fabric with sun coverage, durable knees and seams |
| Family driver | Shirt or polo shirt, tailored trousers, blazer or waistcoat for formal occasions | Comfort when seated, crease resistance, a smart colour |

Fabric and climate notes
For indoor roles, polyester-cotton blends are a common choice because they are comfortable in air-conditioning and simple to launder at home. For outdoor roles such as gardening and car care, lighter fabrics with long sleeves give sun coverage without trapping as much heat.
Colour is a practical decision. Mid-tones and soft patterns disguise everyday marks better than white, while very dark colours feel hotter outdoors. Aprons protect the main garment in kitchens and during cleaning, and are easier to replace than a full uniform. We give UAE and GCC climate-ready fabric recommendations as advice. Final specification will be confirmed during quotation.
Our fabric care guide covers washing and ironing advice that can be shared with the household.
Branding and identification
Most private households prefer uniforms without a logo. Estates, serviced residences and staffing agencies sometimes add a discreet embroidered monogram, residence name or agency logo, which is handled through our in-house embroidery service with a free digital logo mock-up before production.
In larger residences, role colours do the same job as a badge: one colour for housekeeping, another for kitchen staff, another for outdoor teams. Where names are needed, name badges can be supplied alongside the garments.
How ordering works
- Tell us the roles. List each role, the number of staff, the sets needed per person and your preferred colours.
- Choose the supply route. Ready-stock garments are often the simplest route for standard tunics, polo shirts and trousers, while custom manufacturing suits a specific colour or design. Both can be combined in one order.
- Sizing. Sizing options are discussed during quotation. Our size and fit guide and the article on how to measure for uniforms explain how to take measurements at home.
- Branding. If a monogram or logo is required, we prepare a mock-up for approval.
- Repeat orders. Approved sizing, fabric, colour and branding are kept on record, so replacements and uniforms for new staff match what the household already has.
Delivery timelines are confirmed during quotation. Agencies that place staff with many households can manage new-joiner kits and replacements through an employee uniform programme, and private residences run on hotel lines may find our hospitality uniforms page useful.

Frequently asked questions
Can a private household request a quote, or only companies?
Households, villa and estate managers and domestic-staffing agencies can all request a quotation. The garments, quantities and supply route that suit your requirement are confirmed when we quote.
Will you measure staff at our home?
Free onsite individual measurement in the UAE applies to qualifying company uniform orders, so it is not promised for private households. Sizing options are discussed during quotation.
Are modest styles available?
Yes. Longer tunics, long sleeves, loose-fit trousers and modest dress lengths can be included. Tell us the preferences of the people who will wear the uniforms when you send your enquiry.
How many sets should each person have?
It depends on how often laundry is done and how active the role is. As a general guide, plan for one set being worn, one in the wash and at least one spare, with extra aprons for kitchen and cleaning roles.
