In a salon or spa, the uniform is part of the client experience. Clients spend an hour or more within arm’s reach of their stylist or therapist, so a tunic that looks crisp at opening time has to look the same at the last appointment, after colour products, oils, steam and constant movement.
Uniform Suppliers UAE is the uniform and workforce-identity division of Mustang Advertising Trading LLC, operating since 2007 from Dubai. We supply tunics, spa uniforms, therapist wear and reception outfits to salons, barbershops, nail bars, day spas, hotel spas and wellness centres in the UAE and across the GCC.
The salon and spa uniform challenge in the UAE
Beauty work is physical. Stylists stand with raised arms for long periods, therapists bend, reach and lean over a treatment bed, and nail technicians sit close to the client with their forearms on the table. A uniform that restricts the shoulders or rides up at the back becomes a daily irritation.
Products are hard on fabric. Hair colour, bleach, wax and massage oils all leave marks, and garments are laundered after almost every shift. Treatment rooms are kept warm while reception areas are strongly air-conditioned, so one fabric rarely suits every role.
Modesty and mixed teams
Salon and spa teams in the UAE are drawn from many nationalities, with different preferences for sleeve length, tunic length and neckline. Planning longer-line tunics, three-quarter sleeves and trouser sets into the range from the start avoids one-off alterations later.
Role-by-role garment guide
| Role | Typical garments | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Hair stylist and colourist | Tunic or stylist shirt, trousers, colour apron | Darker or colour-masking shades, apron pockets, easy-care fabric |
| Barber | Barber jacket or tunic, trousers, apron | Short or three-quarter sleeves, front or side fastening, tool pockets |
| Nail technician and beautician | Short-sleeve tunic, trousers | Smooth fabric that does not shed lint, neat cuffs, pocket position |
| Massage and spa therapist | Wrap or mandarin-collar tunic, loose-fit trousers | Stretch for movement, breathable fabric, modest length |
| Spa attendant | Tunic or polo shirt, trousers | Fabric suited to repeated laundering, role colour |
| Reception and front desk | Blouse or shirt, dress or tailored trousers, waistcoat or blazer | Brand colours, a look coordinated with the treatment team |
| Manager | Blazer or tailored tunic, trousers or skirt | A distinct colour or trim so that clients can see who is in charge |

Fabric and climate notes
Three questions decide most beauty-sector fabric choices: how much the wearer moves, what the garment will be exposed to, and how it will be laundered. Blends with some stretch are popular for therapist tunics because they move with the body, while tighter weaves with a smooth face are easier to keep free of hair clippings.
Colour matters as much as composition. White and pastel tunics signal hygiene but show oil and colour stains; black and charcoal hide stains but can be marked by bleach. Many salons solve this with a darker tunic and a separate apron for colour work. We offer UAE and GCC climate-ready fabric recommendations as advice, based on the treatments your team performs. Final specification will be confirmed during quotation.
Laundering method changes the answer too. Tell us whether garments are washed at home, in-house or by a commercial laundry, and see our fabric care guide for general care advice.
Branding and identification
Salon and spa branding is usually discreet: a small embroidered logo on the chest or sleeve, sometimes repeated on the apron. Embroidery is the common choice for tunics because it suits garments that are laundered frequently. Our embroidery service is in-house, and you receive a free digital logo mock-up before production. The guide to embroidery versus printing compares the methods in detail.
Clients like to know who is looking after them. Name badges are available alongside the garments, and eligible engraved badges carry a one-year no-fading warranty. Ask for a badge fitting that will not catch on towels or mark fine fabric.
How ordering works
- Brief. Tell us your roles, staff numbers per branch, brand colours and the treatments each role performs.
- Mock-up. We prepare a free digital logo mock-up showing logo size and position on each garment.
- Sample. Free uniform samples are provided against a confirmed Local Purchase Order (LPO).
- Measurement. Free onsite individual measurement is offered in the UAE for qualifying company uniform orders. Garments measured by Mustang are covered by our fit-correction guarantee, on the terms set out in the measurement policy.
- Production. Ready-stock garments can be combined with custom manufacturing in one programme, and urgent staff can be supplied from ready stock while the custom order is completed.
- Packing and repeat orders. Garments are packed employee by employee, by name and branch. Approved sizing, fabric, colour and logo position are kept on record for new joiners and replacements.
Delivery timelines are confirmed during quotation. Hotel spas and resort wellness teams often order alongside the wider property; our hospitality uniforms page covers those departments, and the uniform ordering checklist helps you prepare a complete brief.

Frequently asked questions
Which colours work best for salon tunics?
It depends on the treatments. Darker shades hide colour and oil stains but can be marked by bleach, while white and pastels look clinical but show marks. A darker tunic with a separate colour apron is a common compromise.
Can each role or branch have a different colour?
Yes. Role colours for stylists, therapists, reception and managers can be planned within one range, and the approved colours are kept on record so that every branch reorders the same shade.
Are modest tunic options available?
Longer tunic lengths, longer sleeves and tunic-and-trouser sets can be included in the range. Tell us the preferences within your team when you request a quotation and we will propose suitable styles.
Can we add new staff to an existing uniform later?
Yes. Because approved sizing, fabric, colour and branding are stored, new-joiner kits and replacements follow the same specification. Larger groups can manage this through an employee uniform programme.
