Government & Public-Sector Uniforms
Public-sector uniform buying is specification-led. The garment, fabric, colour and branding are usually defined in a tender document before any supplier is involved, and the evaluation depends on how completely each bidder can evidence what it offers. Once the contract is placed, the same specification has to be delivered consistently to many departments and sites, often over several years.
Uniform Suppliers UAE is the uniform and workforce-identity division of Mustang Advertising Trading LLC, operating since 2007 from Dubai. We supply uniforms, workwear and identification items to organisations that buy through formal procurement, and we structure each quotation around the specification and documents the tender asks for.
The public-sector uniform challenge in the UAE
Government and public-service teams are varied. One entity may employ customer-service counter staff, office administrators, field inspectors, drivers, technicians and facilities teams, each needing a different garment but a shared identity. A single tender can therefore cover formal wear, polo shirts, workwear and high-visibility items in one schedule.
Consistency matters more than novelty. Colours must match across batches and across years, because staff issued in different cycles work side by side at the same service centre. Workforces are also diverse in size and in dress preference, so modest options and a wide size range should be written into the specification from the start.
Writing a tender-ready specification
A clear specification makes bids comparable. For each garment, state the fabric composition and weight, colour reference, construction details, branding method and position, size range and packing requirement. Where a tender references a fabric or safety standard, ask every bidder to evidence it for the specific garment offered. Our quality and certifications page and the guide to textile and uniform manufacturing certifications explain what those documents mean and what to ask for.
Role-by-role garment guide
| Role | Typical garments | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Customer-service counter staff | Shirts or blouses, tailored trousers or skirts, blazers or waistcoats | Colour reference, modest options, name badge position |
| Office and administrative staff | Corporate shirts, trousers, knitwear | Fabric weight for air-conditioned offices, consistent shade across batches |
| Field inspectors and officers | Polo shirts or work shirts, trousers, caps, jackets | Breathable fabric for outdoor work, clear entity identification |
| Drivers and transport staff | Shirts or polo shirts, trousers | Comfort when seated for long periods, easy-care fabric |
| Technical and maintenance teams | Coveralls, work shirts, work trousers, high-visibility vests | Durability, visibility requirement, any standard named in the tender |
| Facilities and support staff | Tunics, polo shirts, trousers, aprons | Role colour, fabric suited to frequent laundering |
| Event and protocol teams | Formal shirts, blazers, branded jackets | Formal finish, discreet branding |

Fabric and climate notes
Most public-sector teams divide into two environments. Counter and office staff spend the day in strong air-conditioning, where a mid-weight shirt fabric and optional knitwear keep people comfortable. Field, transport and maintenance staff work outdoors in heat, dust and humidity, where lighter and more breathable fabrics matter more.
If the tender fixes fabric composition and weight, bid samples should be checked against it. If it leaves the choice open, we give UAE and GCC climate-ready fabric recommendations as advice for each role. Final specification will be confirmed during quotation. The guide to fabric GSM for UAE workwear explains how fabric weight affects comfort and durability.
Branding and identification
Official logos and emblems must be reproduced exactly. Supply vector artwork with colour references and placement rules, and we will prepare a free digital logo mock-up before production. We work only from artwork that the buying entity provides and authorises for use.
Embroidery is the usual method for formal shirts, blazers and polo shirts, and is handled in-house. Identification is often part of the same schedule: name badges, ID cards and lanyards are available from our workforce accessories range, and eligible engraved badges carry a one-year no-fading warranty.
How supply works
- Specification and quotation. Share the tender documents, garment schedule and size breakdown. Documentation requirements are confirmed per tender.
- Mock-up and samples. You receive a free digital logo mock-up. Free uniform samples are provided against a confirmed Local Purchase Order (LPO); sample requirements for a bid submission are agreed case by case.
- Measurement. Free onsite individual measurement is offered in the UAE for qualifying company uniform orders. Whether a project qualifies is confirmed during quotation.
- Production. Custom uniform manufacturing can be combined with ready-stock garments in one programme.
- Packing. Garments are packed employee by employee, by name, department, branch or location, so that each site receives a consignment it can distribute without re-sorting.
- Records and repeat orders. Approved sizing, fabric, colour, logo position and branding are kept on record, so later call-offs match the first issue.
Delivery timelines are confirmed during quotation. Any site-by-site delivery schedule the tender requires is agreed at the same stage. For multi-year supply covering new joiners, replacements and annual replenishment, see employee uniform programmes.

Frequently asked questions
What documentation can you provide for a tender?
Documentation requirements are confirmed per tender. Send the document list with your enquiry and we will confirm what can be provided for that submission before you rely on it.
Can you match an existing uniform specification?
Send the written specification or a reference garment. We review fabric, colour, construction and branding against it and state in the quotation what can be matched and where an alternative is proposed.
Can one order be delivered to several sites?
Yes. Garments can be packed by employee, department, branch or location, and the delivery schedule for each site is agreed as part of the quotation.
How are repeat orders handled over a long contract?
Approved sizing, fabric, colour, logo position and branding are stored, so new joiners, replacements and annual replenishment follow the same specification as the original issue.
